On the other side of the street, you will find the Lahti library and city theater, and you can do your bigger grocery shopping at the adjacent shopping center. In addition, the city center has restaurants, specialty shops, and a lively nightlife. You can get to the Niemi campus by bus in less than 10 minutes, so no stress. Vapaudenkatu has homes of all sizes – from studios to larger apartments, so there is something for everyone.

The city centre, better than you expect
Lahti city centre – not exactly a metropolis, but surprisingly nice! The city centre has the right amount of culture, shops and nightlife. On the plus side, the harbour area and waterfront boulevard are only a short walk away, so if studying gets a bit much, you’ve got the perfect spot for a breather.
The student house in the city centre is on Vapaudenkatu, next to the Trio shopping centre.
